Security questions
Q: Is PDQit a secure way to send post?
A: Absolutely. All mail sent electronically from your systems to us is encrypted so nobody can access it.
Q: How do I know my post has been sent?
A: We have a full Management Report system in place. It details every transaction and summary whether Account Based or Pay As You Go. Every Pay As You Go User receives a statement/invoice every week and you can check your account history online at any time.
Q: How can I be sure my post is secure?
A: Your documents are securely encrypted before they leave your PC, and are only un-encrypted when they are being printed at a PDQit secure production centre. During the production and fulfilment cycle only our trained, vetted staff will handle the documents. All customer information is treated in the strictest confidence and only sealed envelopes leave the production centre. In the unlikely event of letters requiring reprinting, the originals are placed in secure data disposal receptacles.
Q: Is undeliverable post returned?
A: All returned post is securely destroyed.

Operational questions
Q: How does PDQit work?
A: Without going into too much technical detail PDQit is a hybrid mail system that prints out, envelopes and posts all the items you send through it. From your end it looks and behaves just like a printer driver that you can add to many applications.
Q: When will my mail be delivered?
A: At present, we provide a two-day standard service.
Q: Do I need any special hardware to use PDQit?
A: No. PDQit is an entirely software based solution. With only a PC and an internet connection you can send post from home or office.
Q: Can I sign my letters?
A: PDQit is designed for low-medium bulk mailing. You should print letters you need to sign in the normal way. You can add a graphic version of your signature to the letters you send using PDQit.
Q: How do I know my post has been sent?
A: When you download the PDQit driver, it comes with a little user Tray Monitor that sits on your desktop and allws you to monitor the current status of all your post (each item is either waiting, recalled or posted).
Q: What if I don't want an item posted?
A: Any item that is waiting may be recalled before posting, using your Tray Monitor. Once successfully removed from the daily post bag the status of the item will change to being recalled.
Q: What if I send something to PDQit then change my mind?
A: While mail is still in the print queue you can cancel it and be re-credited with the cost.
Q: What size of envelopes and stationery does PDQit use?
A: PDQit uses a white 90gsm C5 windowed envelope (C5 is equivalent to an A4 sheet folded in half) and A4 90 gsm brilliant white paper. Other envelope sizes may be accommodated by special arrangement.
Q: How many pages can you put in an envelope?
A: The automated fulfilling machines we use can handle up to 8 pages in a standard C5 envelope.
Q: What envelopes are used for sending post?
A: PDQit uses plain, white C5 envelopes. The envelopes have the postage indicia on the front and PDQit return address on the back. The envelopes contain no advertising.
Q: What paper is used for printing letters?
A: PDQit uses 90gsm brilliant, white A4 paper. All letterheads, logos etc are required to be in the original submitted file.
Q: How is post actually delivered?
A: PDQit uses TNT as our down stream access provider. They hand the mail over to the Royal Mail for final delivery.
